深信人类的善良与真挚的庶民画家朴寿根，回顾他的生活与作品

 
Park Soo Gun painted about ordinary people’s lives, and he was also an ordinary person born from a poor family. He had to go to public school, and experienced the Korean War as he grew up. All he could do was to physical labor or draw portraits at an American army base. He drew the lives of ordinary people who did not complain about their tough life and lived up to each day.

朴寿根画家是想以贫穷的庶民生活为素材，勾画出人类的善良与真挚而努力的‘庶民画家’。他本人也是在困苦中艰辛生活的‘庶民’。在江原道杨口山沟出生，因为太过困难，只能读完小学，成长之后经历6.25战争，做过码头工人，或在美军部队PX画肖像维持生计。而且，不埋怨困苦的生活，一天又一天默默生活的庶民生活画在画幅里面。

 He used a Western way to paint his picture drawn by the same technique utilizing rough granite – the Westernizedsimple yet intense expression recalls our national sentiment. Thus, he is rated as one of the best painters of Korea and among modern painters of the 20th century. This gallery was built on his birthplace, and studies about his life and work are being looked at again by education, research and publication projects. In addition, the Art Studio has been running craft workshops, such as Yanggoo crafts, that allow artists to concentrate on their creative activities.

利用西洋画技法，在如粗糙的花岗岩的材质画出的绘画，单纯并强烈地表现出我们的民族情绪。由此，他被评为二十世纪最韩国的画家以及最现代化的画家。在朴寿根画家的旧居建立的朴寿根美术馆，研究并展示朴寿根的生活与作品世界的同时，通过教育、出版事业等再次阐明。而且，为了让有能力的小说家可以专注于创作活动，运营创作工作室、杨口工艺工坊等。
