Hwamunsuk is a “figured mat”, that is woven of rush dyed various colors by hand and then is cut according to the pattern. In particular, people of the Song Dynasty most liked Hwamunsuk, and it was one of the high-quality products of Goryeo, like ginseng. Thus, Ganghwa Hwamunsuk Culture Hall in Yango-ri, Songhae-myeon, Ganghwa-gun which is the cradle of Hwamunseok, was established to continue and develop Hwamunsuk, which is part of the traditional heritage and the precious national culture.

花纹席指的是用多种颜色的莎草用手编织之后，按照纹样裁剪的‘花凉席’。特别是，江华花纹席是高丽时代，宋朝人在高丽的出口品中，与人参一起成为最喜欢的产品。由此，江华郡在花纹席的发祥地的江华松海面阳吴里，建立江华花纹席文化馆，为了继承并发展我们珍贵的民族文化遗产的花纹席而给予帮助。
