Gogungugok shows off the best beauty with different nine sceneries
互相不同的九种风景相和谐，展现最美的谷云九曲
Gogungugok is the valley from Hwacheon-gun Sanae-myeon Yongdam-ri to Samil-ri. At the late Joseon Dynasty, according to Gogungi by Kim Sujeung who was a scholar in the court, it is said that this place is called Satan in ‘Sinjeungdongkukyeojiseungram’, but I changed to the new name, ‘Gogun' in Korean.” Dasan Jung Yakyong said that its beauty was the beauty of moderation.
谷云九曲横跨华川郡史内面龙潭里与三逸里的溪谷。朝鲜后期文臣金寿增的『谷云记』记录着“这里在『新增东国与地胜览』称为‘史呑’，但我将史呑改为我们的语言，起名为‘谷云’”，而茶山丁若镛将谷云九曲的美丽表现为‘中庸’之美。
Gogungugok has nine meanings, such as Banghwagye(spring: the season of flowers in full bloom everywhere), Cheongokhyup(crystal clear water is like an aquamarine in the canyon), Sinnyeohyup(the canyon of a female believer), Baegundam(a pond like the white cloud), Myungokrwe(the sound of rapids like a big jade coming to pieces), Waryongdam(the pond of Waryong), Myeongwolgye(the valley of the bright moon), Yunguiyeon(the deep water to praise the virtue) and Cheopseokdae(many layers of rocks). While traveling, you can check up the location to see indicators from the first Banghwagye from the ninth Cheopseokdae. You enjoy various sights, such as the small falls in summer and pieces of snowy ice on the stream in winter.
谷云九曲意味着傍花溪（春天在每个岩石漫开花朵的季节）、清玉峡（清澈而深的水就像玉色的峡谷）、神女峡（神女的峡谷）、白云潭（就像白云的潭水）、鸣玉濑（就像玉碎声的浅滩）、卧龙潭（卧龙的潭水）、明月溪（月光明亮的溪谷）、隆义渊（称赞意志的深深的水）、叠石台（层层叠起来的岩石）等九种。第1曲‘傍花溪’开始到第9曲叠石台的九个地方，用硕大的岩石做出了地标，所以都能知道自己现在身在何处。急流往岩石下面掉落形成的小瀑布，不仅是夏季风景，在白雪覆盖的冰块顺着水流下去的冬季，也可以欣赏谷云九曲独特的风景。
